Bluetooth GamePad
ATTENTION, THIS GAMEPAD DOESN’T WORKS ON PALM OS DEVICES!
Nowadays, the concept of mobile gaming, at least with PocketPC’s, is very advanced. I do this mention because recently, more developers had “developed” games with amazing graphics!.
Would you like to play this amazing games, like if you were playing in a mobile gaming station?
ZonaPDA in cooperat with Brando Workshop presents a very good solution for this: The Bluetooth GamePad.

The Bluetooh GamePad arrives very well protected in a box.

If we open the box, we can find a CD with drivers for PocketPC and Symbian (NO PALM!), a little and concise manual, and a handtrap for the GamePad.

Here we can see the GamePad in the box, almost ready to be used, with 6 different buttons (A, B, C, D, L, R) and the common "start"button, in addition to the joystick.

As we can see, the GamePad comes “folded” because it has a mechanism for this purpose and this makes the GamePad more portable.

This is the GamePad "mounted", a good thing about this GamePad is that you can put your PDA (if it is compatible) in the GamePad (like on the next pic), in our case the GamePad worked flawlessly with the iPaq 2210 drivers (we have an iPaq 4150 and the corresponding drivers are not included), and here we only have to install the drivers in our PDA (it takes less than 1 minute).

The GamePad has a LED that switches in green to let us know if it is connected or not to our PDA.

The GamePad has a button that “folds” the Pad again to make it portable.

Here we can see a little switch to power on the Pad and a little lock to avoid accidentally folding the pad.

Here we can see the configuration screen on the PDA, we can map the different buttons of the GamePad to the hardware buttons of the PDA.

Here we have the “about” screen.
We tested this GamePad with games like Anthelion and Flux Challenge, and it really worked pretty well but sometimes there is a little “delay” but it is not very noticeable.
In conclusion we can say that this accesory is very innovative and cool because now we can use this GamePad instead of the hardware buttons of our PDA’s and avoid damaging them.
The cost of this product only in Brando Workshop is of $49. This is the same GamePad that costs $99 in other shops.
The full name of this product: Chainpus BGP100 Bluetooth GamePad.
Compatibility List.
Pros:
Very good concept and innovative product
It has 6 buttons.
You can Map the buttons to different hardware keys of the PDA
Extremely easy to configure
Cons:
Sometimes there is a little “delay”
Manual is a little incomplete and the compatibility list is incomplete too.
DOESN’T WORKS ON PALM, but in Symbian and PocketPC works very well

if you theink that $99 is good valur for a joypad, you have more money than sense
Can anyone tell me if it is possible for the gamepad to work in landscape mode on a pocket pc device. I mean will it fit correctly over the buttons. It doesn’t look like it would fit but that would really be perfect for many games and emulators out there. It would really be perfect if it works in landscape. It isn’t 100$ its 50$ from that brando place. And 50 is about what a pc wireless controller costs.
$49 isnt too bad.. not it jnust needs to be smaller and better designed and it would be perfect
Fuzzybaffy, this controller only works in portrait, It is not possible to make fit a pda in landscape mode, THE CONTROLLER DOESN’T WORKS ON PALM OS DEVICES, I made a big mistake because of Brando (They tell that it works on Palm….)
CORRECTION TO POST: In regard to above post.
According to the compatibility list on chainpus.com, the controller DOES WORK ON PALM OS. Not all Palm OS devices are supported however. Please check the compatibility list on chainpus.com

$49 isn’t great value for a wireless controller, as FuzzyBaffy you have said. The poit is, that its in line with prices for wireless controllers- branded ones from well-known manufacturers (marketing costs and better packaging). Considering that unbranded goods are on the whole much cheaper than branded goods ( eg blueetooth headsets on ebay) then wouldnt $49 be considered expensive if this unbranded bluetooth controller is compared with branded 2.4GHz band controller? Ok, so we are comparing apples to oranges here so far- one is bluetooth and the other generic wireless- the difference being the implications of use- the bluetooth one can be used additionally in mobile phones ( albeit it comes without bluetooth adapter, unlike the wireless gamepad versions). Now, to compare apples with like, regards price, the bluetooth controller contains a bluetooth chip- maybe this is why it costs $49 for this unbranded? But bluetooth chips are very inexpensive to mass manufacture- and by fashion, bluetooth products have been overpriced compared to wireless equivalents- it costs mere cents per bluetooth module. In an age where bluetooth is a few years old ( ok we have bluetooth 2, but this gamepad suffices just as well with bluetooth 1.0), shouldnt the price discrepancy between the wireless-G and bluetooth products be negligible? In a nutshell, the gamepad is overpriced. Now onto the issue of why the website claims it is reasonably priced…..
